About Us

What We Do

River Valley PFLAG is a local chapter of the national PFLAG organization. We serve LGBTQ+ individuals, their friends and families, and other allies in Pope, Yell, Logan, and Conway counties.

Support

• Host free monthly peer support meetings for LGBTQ+ people, parents, families, and allies.
• Provide a safe, confidential space to share experiences and find encouragement.
• Connect individuals and families with affirming resources in healthcare, crisis support, and community services.

Education

• Share information and resources with schools, workplaces, and faith communities to promote understanding.
• Offer workshops and presentations on allyship, LGBTQ+ identities, and inclusive practices.
• Provide printed and digital guides to help families and allies learn how to support their loved ones.

Advocacy

• Speak out for equality and inclusion in the River Valley.
• Collaborate with community partners to expand access to affirming healthcare and crisis resources.
• Work with local leaders to build safer, more welcoming communities for LGBTQ+ people and their families.
